Andrew Joncas Appointed as Inaugural Assistant Vice President for Enterprise Data and Artificial Intelligence — Syracuse University News

Info Expertise Providers (ITS) has introduced the appointment of Andrew Joncas as the division’s first assistant vp for enterprise information and synthetic intelligence (AI). Joncas will report back to Jeff Rubin, senior vp for digital transformation and chief digital officer.

Joncas is a visionary expertise chief with over 25 years of expertise in designing and implementing transformative IT and information methods. Throughout his tenure on the University, he has managed multimillion-dollar expertise portfolios, pushed AI-powered improvements and optimized information infrastructure to assist tutorial and analysis excellence.

“Andrew brings deep technical information and hands-on expertise that completely aligns with this place,” Rubin says. “His experience in AI and information innovation will assist drive ahead our college’s strategic targets in enterprise information administration, enhancing each tutorial applications and operational capabilities.”

In his new function, Joncas will lead the strategic course and operational execution of the University’s enterprise information and AI initiatives, together with information entry, governance, reporting and evaluation.

“I’m thrilled to step into this new function and discover how we are able to harness the facility of college information and synthetic intelligence,” Joncas says. “Collectively, we’ve a novel alternative to drive innovation and create transformative options for all the University neighborhood.”

ITS will start the search for Joncas’s successor as assistant vp for infrastructure this month. Within the interim, the ITS Infrastructure and Networking groups will report back to Eric Sedore, affiliate vp for data expertise and chief expertise officer.
